of studying...

I need to study A LOT!!! I mean, like this past weekend, I only put in a couple of hours rather than the multiple hours I should have put in. I'm going to be hurting this week if I don't dedicate more time towards this. Don't count on multiple updates till the end of this week.

This past weekend was pretty chill. I got to go out back to the Lotus Lounge with Matty P and Kurt. That was a lot of fun and it just got me a little more points with the "scene" around here. I met an awesome bartender named Tim and the GM once again. It's a pretty chill place. The Raspberry Mojitos are awesome too.

Saturday was a late start with me just laying in bed recovering. I hadn't drink that much in a while but I definitely enjoyed myself. I just did some errands on Saturday. Best Buy, Barnes and Nobles, Sports Authority where I bought a kick ass water bottle. Since then, I've been drinking non stop! It's just so good. As long as I get the 64 ounces (~2 liters) or so it's all good for me. They say about 3 liters is the ideal if you are working out and are trying to diet a bit and that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I bought a pair of "diet" pants. I still wear a 32x32 but this one brand just doesn't want to work with me. That's my goal for the next 30 days. I'm also going to be doing some running every other night for 15 minutes. Hopefully that'll help a little. I also got some Nike Dry-Fit shirts on sale from Sports Authority but they were L and apparently that was gigantic so I exchanged them for Mediums. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm sure they'll fit too. I returned the shorts and saved some money. =)

I bought a new webcam because the last one I sold while I was in Luxembourg to a colleague. I bought the Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX for $57.99 because the next step, the 5000, was $89.99. I just happen to go back today and saw that the 5000 was on sale for $59.99, so I'll have to pick that one up instead. The only difference is that it has RightLight 2 Technology which probably won't be that much of a difference, but what the heck. I'm still debating on how to solve my external hard drive issue. We'll see soon.

I had Smokey Bones today which was a truly amazing experience. The prices weren't that high and the amount was a generous portion. I'm ready to have some left overs tomorrow for lunch. I'm going to try to not eat out at all this entire week. We'll see how long that goes with PB&J, Turkey, Ham Sandwichs, some carrots and whatever else. I still have some Cup-O-Noodle and some Ravioli things. I think that I'll do just fine.

Condolences to the family of the pilot who passed away on takeoff of the Continental Flight. I'm glad that everything turned out safely for the rest of the passengers.

Bears freaking just took that game away! I can't believe that the Chargers are losing Cam Cameron to the Dolphins. Hopefully he won't take that many people with him! He was a damn good offensive coordinator but he definitely deserves his chance. He would have taken over for Marty next year! I wonder why he didn't leave?! And we're losing our Tight End coach too! It's just all over the place for the coaching staff next season. Who knows, Carroll might end up down here! That would be pretty cool!

preventing monotony

I really am running out of food that I can make with only a fridge and a microwave. Yea there are a lot of combinations of foods here and there, but its not like I have rice and a stove to cook on. That would have been choice. So tonight, I took sometime to eat out and tried out Johnny Carino's Hot Jalepeno Garlic Talapia. That was awesome! You have to order that sometime. I had to save a little bit of it so that I could have it tomorrow for lunch. When we first drove by the place reading that it was Country Italian. Of course I thought to myself that they meant USA Country, but duh...Country side of Italy type food! Yeah yeah...just being in Florida and Georgia surrounded by "country" makes you only think of those kinds of country. Just relating country to music and the ranch stuff kind of sets you on a one track mind. Getting back to the oil and crispy pieces of garlic was a good touch too.

Back to monotony; I don't think that I have eaten as many canned soups, peanut and butter jelly sandwiches, oatmeal, wrapped up cheese crackers, Cup of Noodle and Carrots with Dip in my entire life! I eat it for lunch and if I get pretty lucky, I do an immediate repeat for dinner. That's what I'm talking about when I say Round 2!!! Can't get enough of it. Of course, there's always the bowl of cereal downstairs too. Gotta love that.

Studying and learning for about 12 hours a day and just trying to stay awake and cram it inside my head just hurts! I'm finally getting over my headache but every time I stand up, I still get a sudden rush of pounding. I'm going to try to go to sleep early tonight. I can't wait for tomorrow night when I get to "relax" a little bit just to wake up early and study all day on Saturday.

Oh yeah, so I need to buy a Wii once I get a place to actually play it. If it's going to help me lose some weight (check this article out: http://wiinintendo.net/wii-sports-experiment-results/) I also need a new computer to play some games! Where am I going to get all this cash!? I have no idea...but I am accepting donations for the "1st year adopt a pilot friend" - Comment for details!

of frostbite

I got the wonderful idea of wearing my rainbows (slippers) tonight as we walked to dinner across the parking lot. I think that I actually hurt myself! The windchill was just too much to bear on my feet. I wore my trusty new Gap Pea Coat which has definitely served its monies worth but that only protected my upper half. Next think you know, I'll have some dual layer sockage going.

I ate a little heavy today (Wendy's for lunch then a burger at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner) even though my stomach was still going through some bloaty and achy feeling. I also ordered a Chocolate Frosty which probably didn't help at all either. I don't know what's going on, but I was definitely unable to do anything last night because of this. I was finally able to ease my pain a little bit today, but its still hurting. I hope that I get better and fast!

I was dying today in class. I couldn't stay awake if it was to save my life! I definitely was trying but I just couldn't resist the sleepiness. I had to do one of those "just working out my neck" thing to counter my head falling back as I just dozed off! The harder that I concentrate on clicking and reading, I start to dream of doing those things. I can't even tell when my eyes are closed or open! I got to class 1hour early so that I didn't have to stay later or be passed up by my collegues in class, but 2 hours into the regular scheduled lesson, I was already behind. Not by far, but I now recognize that I have to start early and end late just to be on par. It's definitely worth it, but it does take a toll. When I get back to my room, I can't even open a book because of how burnt out I am. I'm looking forward to studying all day on Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be an awesome weekend!

I'm still debating on whether or not to upgrade my phone so that I could benefit from EVDO and get over this 1xRTT internet connection or slowness at this place!? I'll try holding out for a little while longer. As the sales specialist told me, something cool might come out by the end of February.

Florida vs. OSU

Wow, that was a game for the books. Florida tore OSU a new one! I ended upstairs with a few friends and just hung out for the remainder of the evening after putting in a good 1.5 hours studying. I still had a little bit more to do, but it was a good chance to relax again a bit. I was really good today in not spending any money on food. I probably won't tomorrow either, but we'll see. I had a good dinner tonight which consisted of a Turkey / Chicken Deli Meat sandwich, 1 Cup of Noodle Chicken Soup with some hot sauce, a couple of Triscuits, and Carrots and some dip. I also had a Coke Zero which always tops it off well. I have a lot to study and I don't think that I will be able to go home this weekend which would be a good thing because I would get to watch the Charger game here somewhere instead of flying back. Tom Brady did look really good this past weekend. I just hope that our secondary can stop them! Go CHARGERS!!!

of missing someone and studying

Well, Adelle woke up early today to get ready to head back home. She let me sleep up until we needed to leave which was nice. I had a bowl of Lucky Charms downstairs which was pretty tasty then I drove her to the airport where we said our goodbyes. Then poof, she was gone and back in San Diego. It is really awesome that we can go across the country within 5 hours by jet. I'm still amazed at that simple feat. I can't wait to see what is in store in the next 15 years in terms of travel. So anyways...

Right when she left, I already felt sad. Just having her here for a week was awesome. We spent a lot of time together which was good. The good side to a long distance relationship is that it always feels like brand new after a period of absence, but the let down is that you have to start over again in aspects of "getting use" to each other. She let me study what I needed to and was definitely an excellent girlfriend. Thanks for coming beeb!

I went back home, finished up a couple of things, went back to sleep and then awoke to a friend asking me where the hell I was. When I got back into the room, there was no one left. That sucked. I ended up doing some laundry today, got a hair cut from a Vietnamese guy who did an excellent job (it was probably my first awesome haircut away from San Diego), found out from him that there was a Pho place around the area and a Ranch 99 just north of the city, headed to Costco for a case of Red Bull and PowerBars then some awesome $1.50 polish dogs and Pizza, then went to WalMart which rounded up that portion of errands.

Finally after that exhausting day, I studied from about 1740 till about 2100. I can't say that I felt like I got a lot of things done, but I was able to navigate around the panel which did prove good I guess. I can't wait to keep it up now that I don't have any distractions. Not that having someone here around all the time was a distraction or anything, but shoot, it's going to be a great week!

Oh yeah, I also ate in for dinner. I had some Chef Bo R Dee Ravioli minis with some triscuits. You just wish that you could have been here huh?

on the dancefloor

=)

So, today was the first time that Adelle and I headed to a nightclub on our own. We first stopped by Zuma Sushi up in Highland Avenue which definitely fulfilled my sushi craving. It was a nice little quaint place that was filled with deep reds and black decor throughout the restaurant. Authentic you would call it with the Japanese Anime on the LCDs flickering away and a full Japanese staff behind the counters. The food was excellent but any place that wants to charge $5.50 for Edamame is insane. The sushi was a little expensive but it was filling and prepared well. I would go there again, but not until I earn a little more of a paycheck.

On the way to dinner, an old friend who came to Atlanta a while back to attend attend Emory University gave me a call and told us that we should meet her at a new bar / dance club. Of course, Adelle and I said yes and it was probably the first time for me in about 2 years that I did this going to a club and all. I mean, we went around in Fort Lauderdale, but walking into a place on your own is a little weird for me. Turned out to be really fun once we met up with our friends. We had some drinks, danced and ended up meeting new friends. Oh yeah, the place was called, Lotus Lounge. I have to say that the place itself is rather large but it does constrain you to only the downstairs portion unless you are VIP / or some type of "member." The initial reviews that I read on citysearch weren't that positive at all so I ended up not having any expectations. When I entered inside, I felt back at home in San Diego. The ambiance shouts high class, but the dress is business casual with nice jeans and all. Cover is $10 after 2200 for guys and then $10 after 2300 for girls. Not that bad at all, but the drink prices is where they get you. I bought a Coors light and a Rasberry Martini (originally ordered as a Mojito but the waitress didn't get it correct) and it cost me $17.00! I was shocked a little bit, but I guess that's normal for some places.

I definitely have to come back sometime with my guy friends. The ratio was definitely tipping in our favor. There were so many ladies just walking around and I was quite surprised by this. I also have to point out that it was very multi-cultural which was completely different than my past experiences around this town. You'll probably find more interesting information on the citysearch link above that I provided ya.
